We survived another great Christmas season. We did lots of relaxing, movie watching, eating and playing games. Shawn got most of the holiday off and we enjoyed spending time together. Here are a few snapshots from my phone.
Liv and I making sugar cookies for her school class party.
Christmas Eve we went out to the movie theatre and the kids wore their Santa hats.
After the movie we went to a new Chinese Restaurant for dinner. The food was great and the kids enjoyed reading their fortunes and learning about their animal years.
We lit luminares Christmas Eve.
Christmas morning the kids slept until after 7 before they begged to open presents.
Ethan was sick that morning and spent most of the time laying on the floor. He has crazy fevers and didn't feel good at all. Liv was next and ended up getting croup the next day. That is part of the reason we stayed home most of the break. Sick kids is no fun.
We played lots of games. The kids and I spent one night playing banangrams. It funny to play with them. They make up their own words. We kind of bend the rules a bit and everyone gets to make-up one chinese word. What else are you going to do with all the Q's, X's and Y's?
We had doctors appointments. Here is Liv getting her eyes checked.
We spent some time in Chicago. We drove down to take the kids to their first Broadway play, Newsies. The theaters was beautiful and the show was so fun. We will definitely go again. Before the show we went to Epic Burger. Amazing burgers and fries!
We spent the night at a hotel downtown Chicago and then went to IKEA the next morning. Our first IKEA experience. We had lots of fun!
I put Shawn to work as soon as we got home hanging all my new frames and shelves, probably his least favorite thing to do :(
We rang in the new year with games, a Harry Potter marathon, pizza, treats, and a little sparkling bubbly.
We finally got some good snow and were able to pull out the new snowblower.
Liv had pictures for her gymnastics team.
We are ready to go back to school and get our normal routines going again.
