** Happy Birthday**
Today is the last of my children's birthday's for the year. Cole is finally 6 years old. He is so fun and bursting with personality, I couldn't image a day without his happy smiling face!
We celebrated his birthday yesterday when all our family was in town. We had a soccer ball cake, presents, and games at the park.
Here is his annual birthday video and hopefully later this week I'll get around to his annual birthday pictures. Enjoy!

Big Weekend
Having lots of people visit is so fun, but oh so exhausting. I'm really dragging this morning. But we truly had a beautiful weekend and I'm feeling really blessed to have so many wonderful people part of my life. It started out on Thursday with Shawn's parents arriving and then a special dinner with them. Friday my mom and Dave, and step-sister Maddy arrived, followed by Jamie, Brandon, and baby Jake. We mostly relaxed, played, and ate all weekend long. Lots of walks, games at the park, and swimming. (sorry grandparents, I didn't get any pictures of you :)
Ethan's Baptism
Saturday was Ethan's baptism. (For those that aren't familiar with our faith, you can learn more here) It was such a beautiful day. We were blessed to have family fly in to share this day with us. There are so many details and thanks that I know I won't be able to do justice, but the day went so smooth and we felt so happy and loved....it was perfect!
Ethan was given some scriptures, a journal and clock that has a special meaning in regards to an ancestor and his desire to get baptized. The following sunday Ethan bore his testimony for the first time. It was sweet and simple and so precious to me.

Insect Preserve
Yesterday I attended the 2nd Grade Insect Preserve. Several weeks ago Ethan was put into a group with three other students to research an insect. Ethan's group was assigned was the Walking Stick. They did lots of research and prepared reports and pictures. The classroom was set up like a insect preserve and you could go around and see the different insect the kids made, learn about them, look at pictures, and even buy snacks and souvenirs the kids prepared. Ethan and I made a bunch of fruit kabobs for his store (apparently walking sticks eat berries). The parents were give fake money when we entered and could buy anything we wanted from the kids. Liv and I had fun sampling all the different treats. The kids had to practice giving exact change and running a store. Towards the end the kids all reduce their prices and had sales. It was a really neat experience and fun learning for the kids about insects and money.
