Ten Things on Tuesday

1.  We are still alive.  It took a few days to get life back to normal, but things are good.

2.  I forgot to mention that right before we left on vacation Liv stuck a bead from one of her bracelets up her nose...and it got stuck.  Fortunately for her, she has a dad who has spent lots of time fishing small objects out of kids noses in the ER.  Shawn was able to use a bobby pin and his otoscope and get the bead out without too much trouble.  Saved us another trip to the ER :)

3.  Cole lost his first tooth a few days ago.  He is late at loosing his teeth, but my kids were all late getting their teeth so its pretty normal.  He was beyond excited.  His tooth had been loose for a long time and it finally came out while eating an apple before bed.  And, of course the tooth fairy found him.

4.  While in Utah my mom treated me to a wonderful pedicure, complete with shellac glitter toes.  I was in the store with Shawn the other day and ran into the back of him and somehow one of my toes hit the back of his shoe and ripped my middle toenail completely off.  It is gross and oh so painful.  But, now I am really mad because my cute glitter toes aren't so cute anymore.

5.  Another new change is that the first thing I did after getting back from vacation was cancel our home phone and TV service.  I had been debating and talking with Shawn for a while about doing this.  We finally decided to take the plunge.  So far so good.  We did download Hulu.com and are loving that, but so far no one really misses the TV (and we are saving ourselves some cash).

6.  Without the TV we find ourselves playing games more (apples to apples is our favorite right now) and watching re-runs of America's Funniest Videos and laughing all night long.

7.  We have forgotten our bedtimes and stay up late EVERY night.  When school starts in a few weeks we are going to have a rude awakening.  We are lucky to get the kids in bed before 10.

8.  I've been trying to catch up on some summer fun and we recently took trips to Monkey Joe's (pump it up inflatable place) one day and Cool Waters (pools with water slides) the next.

9.  Shawn has officially started job hunting and boy does that make us nervous.  We have spent the past 12 years working for this point and we are finally here.  It is so permanent (which we have never been) and so it's scary and exciting.  We won't end up in Utah, much to the disappointment of my mom and sister who were hoping for someone from the neonatology department in Utah to die in the near future, opening up a place for Shawn.  But we are excited for some other options.

10.  The kids are OBSESSED right now with bike riding.  They ride all the time trying to learn a few new tricks.

This summer has been hard with lots of tag team parenting.  As soon as school starts it will calm down, but for now we are doing our best to embrace the craziness.

Sorry, not many pictures, but a quick update for journaling purposes!
