Shoes

I took Liv shopping with me today.  She kept disappearing and this is where I would find her.

She has already requested that we share clothes and shoes when she gets bigger.
I think I might be in trouble.

Cub Scouts

Ethan is officially a cub scout.  When he turned 8 we took him to the scout store to get his uniform and book.  You would have thought it was christmas with how excited he was about the scout store.  He went this week to his first scout meeting.  In Ethan's mind scouts is about camping, making fires, and shooting bow and arrows, so he wasn't sure what to think when his first scouting activity was a service project pulling weeds.  But he had a good attitude and worked hard.  He even came home with is first scouting fundraiser of selling popcorn.  (grandparents be expecting a call from Ethan wanting to know if you want any popcorn).  It is so fun to watch my kids grow and reach certain milestones.  Scouting was definetly an exciting milestone around our house.

Soccer Tournament

We spent this past weekend with Cole at a the TosaFest Soccer Tournament.  Cole is hilarious to watch play.  He's crazy and intense and randomly offers up high fives to the crowd.  Shawn and I laughed almost the whole time, but he really seems to have a great time and enjoys his team.

Motorcycles

We've been wanting to go to the Harley Davidson Museum for a while now, and we were all finally home at the same time on Monday so we went.  To say I have motorcycles obsessed boys would be an understatement.  I'm pretty sure we will own one of these someday, but for now they all just dream.  The museum itself is amazing.  Very neat architecture with a modern steel look.

Piper Pizza

Last night we went out to dinner at the Organ Piper Pizza.  It's a fun pizza place that has a big Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe organ that plays music while you eat.  Lots of fun songs are played (indiana jones, beauty and the beast, star wars, etc.) and you can even make special requests.  Cole busted out his inner Jedi during the Star Wars song.  The video is really grainy, because it was dark, but I still thinks it funny.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school!!!  My kids are ready.  I am ready.  But as I sit here all by myself I don't feel so ready.  I always loved back to school time because I love getting my kids ready and watching them learn and grow.  But I also miss spending time with them.  It's bittersweet.  We spent this past week trying to enjoy every last moment together.  Each child got to have their special date with dad and mom.  Usually I do a back -to-school dinner, but due to the fact that there wasn't one night this week we didn't have something going on, we did not do it this year.  Instead, last night after we got back from Cole's soccer practice we started a new tradition.  Back-to-school ice cream party.  This was a hit.  Basically I bought every kind of junk that you could possibly put on ice cream and we had an ice cream party.  Shawn told me it looked like one of those frozen yogurt places with all the toppings.  The kids loved it and it was a LOT easier than a big dinner.  We finished with father's blessings to help with the new school year.  The blessings were beautiful and unique to each child's strengths and weaknesses.  So, here is to another school year with lots of fun and hopefully few red slips :)

Here are the traditional first day of school pics.
